Which type of Poker Player are you?

Many UK poker sites you have an option which allows you to label fellow players as a specific kind of player. It is worth knowing what type of players you are playing against so you can quickly learn the ones to chase and the ones to avoid.

 

1. 1.       Calling Station:

The player who likes to ‘call.’ This type of player is not interested in another players hand; they stay in a hand to see if it will win. This means they usually draw long odds to make a hand. This type of player is not usually aggressive and not seen to bluff often.

 

1. 2.       Maniac:

This type of player is seen as wild and their presence alone can change the dynamic of a table. The loose and aggressive playing style destroys those players that are timid. This type of player likes to bluff.

 

1. 3.       Shark:

The shark is a good solid player who plays aggressively and tight. This type of player is one to avoid as they can be tough opponents.  

 

1. 4.       Mouse:

This type of player is timid, passive and tight and likes to fold or call rather than raise or bet. The mouse is a good opponent to steal blinds from as well as bluff a hand from.

 

1. 5.       Rock:

The rock is a player who does not play many hands at the table and for this reason can go unnoticed. This type of player is aggressive and tight pre flop and passive post flop. Not much action will be seen from this player as they are passive.

 

1. Bomb:

The bomb is similar to the maniac and is an aggressive player. This kind of player enjoys action and likes to gamble. The style is loose and the bomb likes to bluff.

 

1. 7.       Red Yield:

This player is tight and is passive pre flop yet aggressive post flop. It is not often you will see this player raise pre flop so look out if they do.

 

1. 8.       Green Yield:

This type of player enjoys playing many hands and can often over value their hand.

 

1. 9.       Green Fish:

The green fish is a passive and loose player and has an low profiting style of play. A weak player.

 

1. 10.   Blue Fish:

The blue fish likes to play many hands and is aggressive and loose pre flop yet passive post flop.

 

1. 11.   Elephant:  

This kind of player is very loose and will play any two cards. The elephant is always happy to see a flop.
